Spanish researchers studying cosmetic skin fillers have found thatpolyalkylimide implants may lead to potentially severe, adverseimmune-related effects that appear months after theprocedure. Their research is published in a recent issue of the Archivesof Dermatology.Consisting of a gel and water compound, polyalkylimide implants aredesigned to augment lips, cheeks, the forehead, and lines that developbetween the nose and mouth called nasolabial folds.
