There are hundreds of thousands of people who have tattoos around the world who are unhappy with them and wish that they had never made the decision to get one in the first place.  Unfortunately, many people don't really think the decision through before they walk into the tattoo parlor and get inked.  The most common problems that people face is that after they get a tattoo is that they find out one of two things.  They either hate the design that they thought they would like or they feel like everyone is staring at them because they have a tattoo and they become very self conscious.

Once you get a tattoo you have to go through the tattoo removal process if you decide you want to get rid of it.  This can be not only expensive but also painful and time consuming.  Of course you can use a tattoo removal cream like Wrecking Balm to fade your tattoo but this takes quite a long time to work.

A great solution to this problem is to get a temporary tattoo before making the rather permanent decision of getting real tattoo.  There are two options for you to choose from.  The first is that you can get what is called a henna tattoo.  With this option, a paste made out of a plant based dye is actually brushed on the skin and allowed to sit for several hours or even possibly overnight.  When you wash the paste off, you will have temporary tattoo that will last between one and four weeks.

The second option available to you is to have a modern temporary tattoo applied.  When temporary tattoos first came out, they were quite low quality.  I'm sure you remember getting a little tiny postage stamp sized temporary tattoo in a box of cracker jacks when you're younger. Well, maybe depending on your age you don't remember that but the point is that temporary tattoos have gotten quite good in recent years.  They're definitely much higher quality than they used to be and they actually look like real tattoos.  Temporary tattoos come in very nice designs and you can get both black and gray or colored temporary tattoos.

It's a good idea to have a temporary tattoo applied and walk around for awhile to decide if one, you liked the design that you have chosen for your permanent tattoo and two, if you are the type of person who is going to be happy wearing a tattoo around.

One of the great things about getting a temporary tattoo is that you can try out several different designs if you choose.  I have a friend who got a tattoo on his back and we make fun of them because the tattoo design that he chose is a tattoo that we see a lot of girls wearing.  He had no idea when he got the tattoo that it was a popular tattoo with girls and he constantly regrets choosing a particular design.  If he would have tried out a temporary tattoo first, he would have known whether not that was the actual design that he would be happy with for the long-term.
