Often those who undergo a traditional liposuction notice that although the unsightly fat have disappeared, the skin now looks like a deflated balloon, wrinkled and flabby. A new liposuction technique recently approved by the FDA in the United States, eliminates this and other problems related to the surgery. This is the laser lipolysis, which has become an option for doctors and patients worldwide. For the latter is the closest thing to the dream of removing overnight the rebel fat deposits that do not go away with diet or exercise.
This new liposuction procedure consists of inserting a cannula with a diameter of just 2mm. into an optical fiber tip, which allows the surgeon to safely "navigate" under your skin. This tiny tube shoots a laser beam that will dissolve the fat cells in the target areas. Unlike traditional liposuction, which uses a three-millimeter cannula to suck out the fat , the beam laserlipolysis uses these beam to convert fat into a oily liquid which is easier to extract. Most of the fat is naturally drained through the same incision or absorbed, and within 24 hours is eliminated through the kidneys. While melting the fat, the laser will tone the skin so that it is not loose. In other procedures, this does not occur and patients require further surgery to make the skin firm. This is done all at once. The heat from the laser promotes clotting during the procedure, while stimulating collagen production, which forms fibers that support the skin.
In conventional liposuction, removing the excess skin is done during the same operation and in others, six months later. The new liposuction lipolysis is more effective in areas like the face, chin, heel, and wrinkles around the mouth, which tend to be irregular.
With this new liposuction technique, people have the opportunity to undergo a lipo without going back and forth from the operating room. The patient can leave with a slim body, no bruises and pain and, continue with their normal everyday activities.
