In order to achieve natural beauty its important to start with the building blocks of a good beauty routine, this combined with using the best possible natural ingredients, is a great foundation when considering the health of your skin
CLEANSE: A good cleansing routine is necessary for skin health, it helps to remove stale make up, dirt, dust, excess oil and bacteria. When we cleanse the skin its important to remember that this is the skins protective layer, so its important to use a good natural cleanser that removes only the impurities without stripping the skins epidermis of nutrients and moisture.
TONE: The second step in our daily routine should be toning, other than removing any residue makeup and dirt left on the skin it also helps restore the PH balance of the skin, closing the pores and leaving skin fresh and tight. Many toners on the market place have a lot of chemicals so its important to use a gentle yet effective toner such as a floral water, that doesn’t contain harsh ingredients that can strip the skin.
MOISTURIZE: Young skin is smooth and firm, primarily because the skin does a good job of trapping water, but as we age the skin starts to thin and dry out, fat layers under the skin becomes thinner and facial muscles cause creases to appear, which is why it is so important to keep the skin well nourished and hydrated. The primary function of a moisturizer is to prevent moisture loss even if your skin is oily it will benefit with a moisturizer, because it locks in moisture in the skin’s deeper layers.
EXFOLIATE: This should become an important part of your natural beauty routine. Exfoliating at least once a week increases cell turnover to reveal newer, healthier skin cells. It decreases blackheads, minimizes hyper pigmentation and fine lines, cells transitioning from below the skin’s surface to the topmost layer bring with them essential lipids and moisture, which is essential for hydration, and moisture content of the skin.
PROTECT: What most people do not appreciate is the devastating effects of chronic sun exposure on the skin. Sunlight contains several different types of ultraviolet light that over time cause's significant damage to both layers of the skin. Unfortunately, the effects of sun exposure don't become readily apparent for many years, fine wrinkles, broken blood vessels and brown patches are some of the consequences of frequent sun exposure. So covering up using a good sun block is important for healthy skin.
